MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon University softball team finished the regular season with a pair of victories over Simon Fraser University (B.C.), 9-0 and 10-2, and claimed the regular season Great Northwest Athletic Conference title Sunday.

After sweeping SFU, the Wolves (30-20, 18-6 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) clinched the title when Western Washington split at Saint Martin's on Sunday. It's the second regular season title in WOU program history. The 2008 Wolves also finished 18-6 en route to the conference crown. Western Oregon will be the top seed at the second annual GNAC Championships beginning Thursday in Richland, Wash.

Tyler Sutherland had the previous record of 47 in 2009. TeammatesMelanie Pfeiffer and Evola are right behind at 47 and 46 this season.

Bridjet Box went 4-for-6 against the Clan. Kelli Demianew and Jourdan Williams both grabbed wins in the circle.

Evola broke the RBI record with a grand slam over the center field fence. SFU (4-35, 2-21 GNAC) countered with a home run in the second and another run in the fifth.
